Welcome to my practice. I am a clinical psychologist with almost two decades' experience working with teens and adults.
My practice is on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
I am offering phone/video sessions.
We all experience moments when life feels overwhelming and hopeless, when we just can’t seem to get out of our own way. Covid has most certainly exacerbated these moments, particularly amongst health professionals. Therapy provides a safe, respectful partnership within which to make sense of our experiences and work together to find new ways to move forward.
I work with people seeking help with a wide range of difficulties, including depression and anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions (e.g., starting college, getting married, parenthood, divorce). In addition, over the past two years, I have worked with many individuals suffering as a result of Covid-related isolation, anxiety, and trauma.
I work with people seeking help with a wide range of difficulties, including:
I have many years of experience at college/grad school counseling centers and enjoy working with adolescents and young adults struggling with the vast academic, social, and emotional transitions that are hallmarks of adolescence. Also, as both an alumna of and parent at NYC private schools, I understand the unique pressures of these environments.
In addition, through my research and clinical work at Columbia University Medical Center, I have developed expertise in working with parents in the perinatal and postpartum periods, offering support around the many challenges that can arise during these moments of enormous transition.
In my experience, the relationship between patient and therapist is critical to the success of treatment: Patients need to feel safe, respected, and understood in order to do the work of therapy. I strive to establish a supportive, collaborative, and honest relationship that encourages growth and change. While I am trained and experienced in providing short-term treatment, I particularly enjoy working with patients in depth-oriented, longer-term psychotherapy.
