Welcome to my practice. I am a clinical psychologist with over 17 years of experience working with teens and adults.
My practice is on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
I am offering phone/video sessions for those who are distancing or quarantined.
We all experience difficult times in our lives -- periods when things feel overwhelming and hopeless and we just can’t seem to get out of our own way. Therapy provides a safe, respectful partnership within which to make sense of our sometimes-puzzling experiences, evaluate our ways of coping with life challenges, and work together to find new ways to address these and move forward.
I work with people seeking help with a wide range of difficulties, including:
I have many years of experience at college/grad school counseling centers and enjoy working with adolescents and young adults struggling with the vast academic, social, and emotional transitions that are hallmarks of adolescence. Also, as both an alumna of and parent at NYC private schools, I understand the unique pressures of these environments.
In addition, through my research and clinical work at Columbia University Medical Center, I have developed expertise in working with parents in the perinatal and postpartum periods, offering support around the many challenges that can arise during these moments of enormous transition.
In my experience, the relationship between patient and therapist is critical to the success of treatment: Patients need to feel safe, respected, and understood in order to do the work of therapy. I strive to establish a supportive, collaborative, and honest relationship that encourages growth and change.
